Greetings Sorors,

It is with a humble heart that I come before you to seek your vote for Chair of the 2027 National Nominating Committee. This website is designed to share my vision, experience and answer the question of “Why Sylvia Louise Quinton?”

My journey with our sorority has been one of progressive growth and development. I know firsthand that it takes energy and courage to step forward and serve in our sorority. From serving as a Collegiate Chapter President, Alumnae Chapter President, Regional Representative, member of the National Finance Committee, member of the National Nominating Committee, and appointed member to various national, regional, and local committees, I come before you with a broad perspective of our sorority’s organizational structure. I come before you with proven leadership and proven experience. I come before you with a deep passion to encourage members to assume leadership roles, to clarify the nomination process for submitting applications, to reimagine working across the seven regions to prepare members to step forward and serve, and to evaluate and recommend candidates for leadership roles in our sorority. From my experience and viewpoint, our members who step forward to serve must have support to strive and attain for Delta.

As a volunteer service organization, we already know that the commitments and expectations are high. As the 10th National President, Soror Dorothy I. Height, once stated, “We as Black women don’t always get to do what we want to do, but we always do what we have to do.” Having the energy and courage to step forward and serve in leadership roles in our sorority is one of those things that we MUST do. It is my goal to collaborate across the seven regions to ensure that the nominating process is engaging, empowering, and effective in seeking members to step forward and serve.

In the coming months, I will share more specifics regarding my unique qualifications and background to serve as your Chair of the 2027 National Nominating Committee. Additionally, I will present my strategic plan and platform to support members to step forward and serve in leadership roles that will shape our organization’s future and legacy. Sorors, I look forward to engaging in meaningful dialog with each of you soon.

Yours in Delta,

Soror Sylvia L. Quinton, Esq., EdD

Candidate, Chair, 2027 National Nominating Committee
